The Announcement Trailer (June 6, 2025)

Mortal Shell II was revealed during Summer Game Fest with roughly 120 seconds of footage. It carried the slogans "Arise, Harbinger / Cleanse a ravaged world / Dethrone false gods / Claim what's yours" and introduced the player character, the Harbinger, meeting a mysterious spirit entity believed to be the Undermether.

The trailer confirmed the same grotesque dark-fantasy tone as Souls-likes such as Dark Souls 3 and Elden Ring: dead trees swarmed by ravens, cocoon-like objects at their base, and haunting NPCs. It also gave the first look at returning enemy types like the Wormfish — and at towering enemies, presumed bosses, that dwarf the player.

The 11-Minute Gameplay Reveal

Cold Symmetry's first official gameplay trailer was an 11-minute showcase with exclusive footage and new details about the Shells, weapons, equipment and combat. This is where the three named Shells were confirmed — Eredrim the Venerable, Proxima the Broodseeker and Tiel the Acolyte.

The reveal also confirmed two huge combat changes: the removal of the stamina system and the return of Hardening — turning temporarily to stone to negate all incoming damage, usable mid-attack or even mid-air. New systems like posture-breaking, critical strikes and Tarstone weapon infusions were shown in action.

Every Weapon Shown in the Trailers

The footage showed returning weapon types — Heavy Sword, Hammer, and Chisel — alongside new ones: Scythe, Greatsword, Greataxe, Crossbow, and Hand Cannon. The Hand Cannon is the standout addition: different Shells were seen using it to shoot off an arm or body part of an enemy, suggesting weapons stay usable regardless of your Shell.

The trailers also showcased brutal weapon-specific finishers and reactive hit reactions: enemies staggered by hammers, shields broken by rapid crossbow fire, and body parts destroyed by cannon shots.

The Countdown Teasers (March 2026)

Before release, the game's official X account posted cryptic countdown videos: the first on March 4 reading 671 hours, then more on March 11, 18, 19 and 26, ending in a 24-hour countdown on March 31 that fired anticipation for the launch marketing push.

Not yet verified: The name of the trailer song/music artist is a frequent search question, but our sources do not confirm it.
