FIELD GUIDEMORTAL SHELL II

Mortal Shell II Build Planning

Start with one Shell ability you want to use, then test your weapons and equipped items around it. For Genessa or Sariel, check the September ability changes first. This is a planning checklist; it does not rank untested setups as the best builds.

Check an Older Guide Before Spending Resources

Genessa's unlimited Resolve/summon loop was changed on September 5. Sariel's abilities changed in the same update. Use the dated Shell ability summary to identify whether a video or written setup depends on older behavior. The original official update describes the changes.

Compare one build change at a time

Editorial checklist for a repeatable comparison.

  1. Choose an ability

Read the current tooltip and check dated Shell changes before following an older build.

  2. Set a baseline

Use the same encounter, difficulty setting and equipment as your reference.

  3. Change one element

Test one upgrade or equipped item while keeping the rest consistent.

  4. Review the result

Compare ability use, recovery and survival before committing more resources.

This is a planning method. The site has not run controlled damage tests or established a best-build ranking.

Compare One Change at a Time

  1. Read the ability and item tooltips in your installed version. Record the conditions for activation.
  2. Choose an encounter you can repeat. Keep the enemy, difficulty settings and other equipment consistent.
  3. Change one upgrade or item. Compare successful ability uses, time spent recovering and survival.
  4. For Genessa, watch how often summons remain useful through the whole fight. For Sariel, test target movement and room size.
  5. Keep a setup you can execute reliably before investing further. A claimed damage record does not show how forgiving a build is.

Plan a Reset Before Rebuilding

Write down the upgrades you want to keep and the replacement ability you want to test. Read the respec guide for the confirmed reset method and its refund boundary. Treat Shell, weapon and Tarstone investment as separate questions when reviewing a reset prompt.

Not yet verified: This guide does not yet have controlled damage tests, complete per-Shell upgrade costs or verified endgame loadouts. A best-build ranking needs that evidence.
